THE A-Z OF EFFECTIVE CHANGE – CONFIDENCE

When you have decided to create change in your life you will need bucket loads of inner confidence to implement and stay the course through the journey of change.

As humans, change often brings us feelings of uncertainty, fear and anxiety. Continuously building your inner confidence will diminish and alleviate these feelings of uncertainty, fear and anxiety.

As you build your inner confidence, you will inspire others to have confidence in themselves as they navigate their ever-evolving path to effective change.

As you build your inner confidence, you will make better decisions and will feel more at ease with these decisions. Because of your inner confidence these decisions will be based on a personal inner knowing and not fazed or swayed by any external circumstances.

Most change happens outside of your comfort zone which can be a scary place to go. Inner confidence will help you make the journey outside of your comfort zone and will support you to stay there long enough to implement and sustain change. The boundaries of your comfort zone will then expand making even more change possible.

Pinky’s image below is inspired by 80s band Journey’s hugely successful song ‘Don’t Stop Believing’. Playing, singing and dancing to this excellent song at high volume will do wonders for your self-confidence!

THE A-Z OF EFFECTIVE CHANGE – BRAVERY

As we know change of any sort may not be easy and sustainable change is the most challenging and difficult change of all.

Whether the change you are making is personal or professional, whether it is big or small, whether is it something you wished for or not wished for, all change requires bravery on some level.

Bravery is required in deciding to change.

Bravery is required in taking action to change.

Bravery is required in continuing with the consistent actions required to make change.

Bravery is required in becoming comfortable with the results of change.

Bravery is required in sustaining change for the long term.

When it comes to change, take a deep breath, be brave and take the next step forward.

Just like Pinky in the image above taking a brave step into the deep end, the deep end is almost never as deep as we think it is going to be.

You’ve got this! 🙂

This post is dedicated to my Dad, Con Danaher, who celebrates his birthday next week. My Dad is the bravest person I know and through his humble braveness he has taught me to be brave.

(I’m not exactly ‘Braveheart’ brave but I am braver than I used to be and more happy than ever to venture into the unknown!)

THE A-Z OF EFFECTIVE CHANGE – AWARENESS AND ACTION

The first step to creating effective change is awareness.

Awareness that something needs to change.

Awareness that something is not working for you.

Awareness that change is the best way forward.

When you have awareness the journey towards effective change can occur.

After awareness, the next step to effective change requires  purposeful, focused and consistent action.

I am a big fan of Maya Angelou’s work and wisdom, Maya has left our planet an amazing legacy. One of my favourite Maya Angelou quotes is

‘Nothing works unless you do’.

This is so true when it comes to creating effective change in your business and your life.

Take action and keep taking purposeful, focused and consistent action until the change you envisage becomes a reality.

Welcome and thanks for reading,

I’m very excited to announce the launch of my 26 part blog series,

‘The A-Z Of Effective Change’

The star of my blog series is Pinky, the Positive Pig!

Pinky is always on a journey of change and is very happy to share his journey and learnings with you all.

Huge thanks to Andy Kefford, creative genius cartoonist, for working with me to bring Pinky to life.

Special thanks to my beautiful 7 year old niece Miah for giving Pinky such a fabulous name.

As a Lean practitioner, I’m very fortunate to work in the area of creating and sustaining positive change all day every day. Change happens to us all and is a constant companion in life and in business. Change occurs all the time, our bodies age, our cells change, our minds evolve and grow, our environment changes every millisecond, our world changes by the day.

How we process and deal with change is in direct correlation to the happiness and contentment we will feel during change and with the resulting outcome.

My blog series is written to give you an insight into the many elements required to create and sustain effective change. Whether the change is big or small, personal or professional, wished for or not wished for, I hope my blog series will assist you on your journey of change.

I will be posting 1-2 posts every week using a different topic for each letter of the alphabet. These posts will be shared on all of my social media platforms. To ensure you don’t miss a post sign up for my mailing list by entering your e-mail details at the top right hand side of this post. As soon as a new blog post is published you will receive it in your inbox.

I’m very much looking forward to sharing this blog series with you, I hope you enjoy reading the posts as much I have enjoyed creating them,

Keeping it Simple,

Siobhain
